Spring 2020 Informal Recruitment

Informal recruitment (also known as Continuous Open Recruitment/Bidding, or "COR/COB") takes place at the start of the Fall semester, or after Formal Recruitment has concluded in the spring semester. COR/COB is a way for Potential New Members (PNMs) and sorority members to get to know each other in an informal environment. Please note: Not all sororities will participate, or are eligible, to hold COR/COB events. The Panhellenic Association does not require registration for COR/COB.

To be eligible, you:

  • must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12-credit hours
  • Encouraged to have a college 2.50 GPA as all of our organizations have a minimum GPA requirement of a 2.50 cumulative
  • must have at least 12 credit hours from an accredited college/university. AP/Dual Enrollment credits do not qualify.
  • must have attended a New Member Days Session

Chapters that are eligible for COR/COB:

Participating COR/COB Chapters:

If you are interested in pursuing continuous open bidding, please contact the chapter(s) of interst from the list of particpating organziatons above. Participating chapters plan and execute their own COB process and events. Chapters and potential new members (PNMs) are responsible for contacting each other to create opportunities to meet and become familiar with one another. Events differ, but are typically casual and informal.

Panhellenic Continuous Open Bidding (COB) Membership Acceptance Binding Agreement will be used for the informal recruitment processes for Panhellenic. If a chapter is below Total (medium chapter size) and wishes to have a new member class, then a COB Membership Acceptance Binding Agreement needs to be filled out by the Potential New Member (PNM). This Agreement needs to be turned in 24 hours after the date signed to the Fraternity & Sorority Life Office. Specfically, emailed to or turned into the mailbox of the Assistant Dorector of Fraternity & Sorority Life on the 5th floor of the Marvin Center.

If you have any questions about the informal recruitment process, please contact Fraternity & Sorority Life at [email protected] or the Vice President of Recruitment.
